Pacific Environment and Climate Change Outlook launched

28 November 2012, Doha, Qatar - The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme launched its Pacific Environment and Climate Change (PECC) outlook in Doha

 

The Outlook is a review of the state of climate in the region for the past 20 years

The Outlook outlines physical, geological, socio economic and political aspects of climate change and environment.

The Outlook also identifies some of the areas in the region that still needs improvement in monitoring climate change impacts.

There is a need for more capacity building and strengthening of technical areas such as early warning systems and meteorological services in the region.
